Two Truths & One Lie
This February 2019 our programming included a 2 hour creative workshop, participants worked with professional artists to create an interactive photo exhibit.
Relaxed and easy drama games and music activities kicked off the activities to help everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. Artists then led the participants in imagining an alter-ego (a character who represents a different side of their personality). Using costumes and props participants then disguised themselves as their alter-ego and posed for photos.
The exhibit is currently featured in the lead up to the touring production of "This is the Point", which is running at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre.
I use to sit at home all day because I was afraid that people would make fun of me. Given the opportunities, I am now out everyday and a lot of nights, I have made many new lifelong friends through Niagara Centre for Independent Living.

Niagara Centre for Independent Living Community Participation supports, offers services to persons with a developmental disability to help reach their full potential. We can provide educational services facilitated by professionals that can help consumers learn new skills and develop their interests. We have a variety of recreational and social events. We challenge people to become active contributers in their own communities.
